Webmail Help Tutorials
>> QuickStart
With WebMail, you can view your e-mail from any internet-connected
computer in the world. Don't forget to take your password when you travel!
If you usually check your email from your main computer
(with an "email client" program like Outlook, Eudora, or Netscape Mail),
you need to understand how it'll interact with WebMail -- see Using WebMail in Combination.
If not, see Using WebMail Alone.
Basic Reading & Sending Messages
When you start with WebMail, you can ignore many features.
You will simply read new messages, reply to them, and compose outgoing messages:
1. The first screen you see in WebMail is your Inbox, with a list of messages.
2. To read a message, click on its subject. After reading it,
use the Back button (an up-arrow in the WebMail toolbar) to return to the Inbox list.
3. To send a message, click on the Write button in the Toolbar.
If you've had WebMail open for a while, and you want to get any new messages
that have arrived on the Mail Server, click the Get Mail button in the Toolbar.
If you use WebMail a lot, you may want to learn about more features
(like Address Book and Signature) elsewhere in this
Help system.
Managing Your Email Account through WebMail
You can use WebMail to set up a "vacation" auto-responder,
which sends a canned reply to incoming messages. To turn it on and off and edit its text,
click on the Prefs button and look for the heading Vacation Auto-Responder.
